*Character Canon: Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
*Age: 24
*Race: Human
*Timeline/Pull Point: Right around at the end of the game, when Dracula's castle is crumbling but before Julia comes and teleports him out.
*History:
Hector lived in the 1400s. When he was a child, he always had a connection with animals, especially animals that were nocturnal. They would always gather around him or follow him home. The villagers and his mother thought he was cursed because of this, and as a result his mother often beat him and say she wished she never had him. His father was an alchemist, and the man was so into his works that he forgot that he even had a son. Hector hated that life and wished that someone would help him. Then someone set the village church on fire, and Hector was blamed for it even though he was innocent.
His parents were executed for having a ‘demon child’ but Hector managed to escape with the help of devils, even though they were the ones that actually caused the fire. They led him to Dracula’s castle and it was there he grew up and learned to become a Devil Forgemaster. It was at the castle where he first met Isaac, another young man learning to become a Forgemaster. Both men served under Dracula as generals. After years of living in the castle, Hector betrayed Dracula and left, just before Trevor Belmont came to slay the vampire king. He left Dracula because he felt it wasn’t right to hunt and kill humans, considering he himself was human even though he was different.
When he left, Isaac went to hunt him down, and left no back up for Dracula when Belmont came. In the end, Dracula was slain by Belmont and Isaac blamed Hector for it. In the mean time, Hector was taken in by a young woman by the name of Rosalee. She lived alone, worked for the village church and taught children how to read and write. She found Hector, patched him up, and gave him a place to stay, and never asked him about his past. In return, Hector helped her out by chopping wood, gathering apples, helping with laundry, minding the children that came to visit her, and other chores. He was happy living this simple life, and he eventually fell in love with Rosalee. He had put aside his devil forging in order to live a normal life.
Hector lived like this for 3 years during which a curse that Dracula cast, upon his defeat, started to grow. The curse planted a seed of darkness into people’s hearts, causing plague and hatred through out the land. The curse had finally started taking full force on the village that Rosalee and Hector lived near by. Also around this time Isaac appeared again, and wanted revenge on Hector whom he had once respected and looked up to. He had Rosalee framed for witchcraft, which resulted in the villagers burning her at the stake.
Furious, Hector went to find Isaac to avenge Rosalee’s death. Along the way, Isaac taunted him and encouraged Hector to take up devil forging again. Hector did so, regained he powers and started forging various Innocent Devils that helped along his quest to kill Isaac. Along the way, he met Trevor Belmont who was investigating to source of the curse.
He also met a young woman named Julia, who was a witch in hiding and had a strong resemblance to the late Rosalee. She assisted Hector in his quest by giving him items and watching over the Innocent Devils he was not using. As it turned out, she was also Isaac’s sister. She helped Hector because she said Isaac was so deeply under Dracula’s curse that the only way to lift it was to slay him. Because Isaac respected Hector so much, she felt that Hector must be the one to slay him, only then could she live with it.
Hector continued on his quest, and ran into other characters like Saint Germain, a time traveler who tried to convince Hector not to go after his revenge, and Zaed, a priest who claimed to seek an end to Dracula’s curse, but in reality, was really Death. Saint Germain’s reason for keeping Hector from getting his revenge was so that Hector would not become the next host for Dracula. In the end, after a fight with Germain, it was determined that Hector could continue on his quest without fear of becoming new host and therefore, Saint Germain stated he would no longer interfere. Also, Trevor finally decided to assist Hector on his quest and opened a gate to another realm that only a Belmont ccould open.
While Hector was on the other side of the gate, Isaac showed up behind Trevor and stabbed him, so that the vampire hunter would no longer interfere with what he had planned for Hector. On the other side of the gate, Hector defeated the guardian down there, the power generated from the battle was more than enough to break the seal and raised Dracula’s castle. When Hector returned he found out what has happened to Trevor from Julia, who was tending to the fallen hunter, and went to the castle to fight Isaac one last time.
It turned out that Zaed was the master mind behind everything. The plan was to use Isaac to lure Hector into using his powers again, thus he would become the perfect vessel to resurrect Dracula in. Fortunately, in the final battle with Isaac, Hector stopped himself from delivering the death blow as he realized his want for vengeance was not him, but the influence of the Curse. Thus, Hector was no longer a suitable vessel to resurrect Dracula in. As a result, Zaed used Isaac instead and turned into his true form to try to destroy Hector.
After his battle with Death, Hector went deeper into the castle to seek out Dracula. There, he confronted the Dark Lord, and stated his reason why he left three years ago, and that this time he would not flee. Hector defeated Dracula and used his Devil Forgery and transformed as much of the curse as possible into something harmless. There would always be darkness but at least it was not as severe as it originally was.
As the castle started to crumble around him, he was relieved that it is finally over and the he could let go and die in peace. Then Julia showed up, as she apparently followed him into the castle, and said she was going to stop him from doing something foolish, such as “letting go.” Hector replied that he cannot fall knowing that she would fall with him, thus allowed her to telaport them out of the castle. In the end he took up Julia’s offer to stay with her, where he knew his Innocent Devils would not be harmed by humans, and where he could finally have the peaceful life he always wanted.
*Personality:
Despite all the abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of his fellow humans, Hector holds no malice towards them. This was his main reason for leaving Dracula's ranks, and wishing to seek a more peaceful life. He understands that their reaction was because of fear of the unknown rather then true hate. He didn't even attack the humans that executed Rosalee, because he knew they were just manipulated into reacting upon their fears.
Before the curse took hold of him, Hector was fairly quiet and not very social, mainly because of his past experiences as a child. He also has a bit of a temper, which the curse pulled out more, when he was on the hunt for Isaac, and thus fueled his lust for revenge for Rosalee's death. When he is calm, he is actually quite polite, displaying mannerisms that are common among higher class individuals.
Because of his powers, he doesn't expect people to except him right away. In fact, a negative, hostile reactions is the first thing he will expect from anyone he first meets. If someone does display any hostility, he will most likely back away, unless they outright attack him. Then he will simply just defend himself.
He also looks at his Innocent Devils as friends rather then servants for him to command. They each have personalities of their own, ranging from aggressive to just plain curious and silly.
*Powers/Abilities:
Hector is well trained in combat, and can use a variety of weapons, such as swords, spears, battle axes, and even his own fists. It makes him quiet flexible in a fight.
Hector's main power though is that he is a Devil Forge Master. Though it is a power he learns from demons, it's actually neutral in nature, and cannot turn someone with good intentions evil. What he can do with this power is with the right materials, he can summon a damned soul, fuss it with his life force and give it a body. The result he has a creature, called an Innocent Devil, at his command that have a variety of powers, like casting attack spells with fire and ice, healing, and shielding. They provide support to Hector whenever he is in a battle situation. There is no limit to how many Innocent Devils he can make, if the material is available, but there is a limit to how many of their seals he can keep with him at any given time and he can only summon them forth one at a time. So, say he is in a combat situation and he needs to heal himself, but the Devil he has out is designed for combat. He will have to seal the combat Devil away and then summon a fairy Devil that can heal.
Here is a list of some of the Devils he can make. Obviously he won't be coming to Haven with all of them. Just four, if that's okay, and they will be listed below, with what they will be able to do, in Inventory. Any other devils he can make if the material ever becomes available to him in a drop. If any of his current devils are destroyed, he can reforge them by using their remains, but he can only recreate the devil that was destroyed rather then a whole new devil of a different type.
Also, one the signs that shows that Hector was a good candidate to become a Devil Forge Master is that he is a animal magnet. Without knowing it, feral animals will start following him around like he is their best friend. Though this may not have any effect on the few wild animals on Cybertron, it maybe amusing to see a geardeer or wild turbofox to follow him around from time to time, if that is possible.
*Inventory:
Obviously he will have the clothes on his back, including the armored vest he wears that bears the crest of a Devil Forge Master. For a weapon he will have a common broad sword with him
Also, if possible, he will becoming with four Innocent Devil seals, obviously their powers will have limits. The first would be a fairy type called Tiramisu whose main power is for healing none fatal injuries and lessening the more severe ones. Then there is Ironside, a battle type, who is really their for brute strength by lifting heavy objects, has a gun like attack. Third is a bird type called Indigo who has an ice attack and acts a great mode of transportation if Hector grabs onto it feet and lets it carry him. Finally there is Pumpkin who doesn't do anything other than pose and is pretty useless Hector gets him to carry something. If that is too much, then i would at least like for him to keep Tiramisu, Indigo, and Pumpkin.

Writing Samples
*First Person Sample:
Tis been a long time since I’ve written in a journal. Not since I betrayed Lord Dracula... Perhaps now I shall again, in order to track my progress.
Again, Issac has been leaving more instructions on how to regain my powers. He is indeed very determine to have me at my full strength when I finally face him. Too bad he will come to regret it.
I will not forgive what he did to Rosalee and I will not let anything stand in the way of my revenge. Though I have sworn off that power long ago, I will awaken it again. I will even go as far as to cast my very soul into Hell in order to achieve my goal.
*Third Person Sample:
Hector ran along the path through the mountains as he made his way towards Julia’s cottage. He was exhausted from his hunt for Isaac and desired to rest, and since her home was close by, it seemed only logical to stay there.
He approached the door and, without even a knock, he went inside and sat down on the nearby rocking chair. As he tried to regain his breath, the sound of foot steps approached him.
“You look dreadful,” Julia said, as she came closer, a book in hand. “How fares you in your search?”
“My strength returns more and more each day,” Hector replied. “Tis but a matter of time before I have my revenge.”
He noticed the slight cringe that Julia gave at the word 'revenge.' It still amazed him how much she was the very image of his Rosalee, and it made his chest tighten a little to see that look on her face. With a desire to erase that look from her features he turned his attention to the book she was carrying.
“What is that for?” he asked.
Julia gave a slight smile, and held out the book to him. “Tis a gift, for you.”
“For me?” He frowned as he took to the book, and opened it. “The pages are blank.”
“That’s because it is meant for you to fill.”
He gave a bitter laugh and sat the book down. “I have not kept a dairy since I was a follower of Lord Dracula.”
“Perhaps tis time for you to write again,” Julia said, with a kind smile. “It may serve you well and help remind you of who you are.”
“What do you mean by reminding me who I am?” Hector asked, as he stood up, as he felt a bit agitated now. “I would need no such reminders.”
”I cannot tell you, Hector,” she replied. “Just please trust me when I say tis important.” She started to turn away to head into the back rooms of the cottage. “You must be hungry. I shall prepare something for you.” And with that she left him.
Hector looked down at the book and picked. He still didn’t understand what she meant, but it couldn’t hurt if kept the journal.
Final Notes: Here's a wiki in case I forgot anything.
